Our Story
I'm Courtney, the creator, and designer behind this magical brand. Every piece is crafted with love and passion, using raw materials and the utmost care, in the warm and sunny state of Orlando.
My journey began in Bermuda, and during the pandemic, while working in a corporate job and experiencing burnout, I wanted an outlet to keep my creativity flowing. I wanted to combine my love for nature, its raw beauty, and unique jewelry to develop additional income and the flexibility to spend more time with my family. With extensive knowledge of precious stones, from their origins and extraction methods to their captivating colors and textures, I embarked on a mission to create truly unique pieces.
Although I had been creating different types of jewelry for a while (I actually started with Polymer Clay), Raw Island Jewels officially launched in June 2021. Amidst a sea of jewelry brands, we stand apart as one of the few black-owned electroformed raw gemstone jewelry brands, guided by a steadfast commitment to sustainability. All our gemstones are raw, ethically sourced, and sustainability is at the core of our philosophy.
Beyond the captivating process of electroforming and the beauty of our raw gemstones, we hold a deep reverence for our planet. We make our pieces using recycled metals, wrap them in reusable jewelry bags, and recycle our waste.
Our greatest aspiration is to provide one-of-a-kind unique pieces that last and make you feel like the Gem that you are. Raw Island Jewels exists to be your partner in quality gifting (even if it's for yourself), infusing your day with good vibes and a positive outlook. Each product is an invitation to pause, breathe, and appreciate nature and the world around us.
